About Us
Media Bubble Ltd was set up by
Director Jo Bekis in May 2007. Jo is the founder and creator of
the
www.sociabubble.com
website, the Character Bubble
(registered design)
and the educational books based on Bubble. The concept began in
2005 with a series of educational fun books based around
pre-school curriculum (now entitled the early years
foundation stages) to help parents teach their young in a
fun way whilst reading. In January 2008 the website
www.sociabubble.com
was fully developed, tested and launched. Media Bubble Ltd is a
registered company no. 06264373
The Aim
The aim is to share best
practice giving parents and schools the facility to learn from
each other, sharing experiences, learn new educational
techniques with the ability to form specialised or topical
groups, write blogs and much more ensuring our next generations
have that all important learning head start. The website allows
flexibility and a real opportunity to connect with likeminded
individuals, the concept being based on the educational needs of
a child living in a modern society, to assist with learning
cohesion through sharing best education practice.
A place where parents can learn
from other parents or give advice and a place that pre-schools
can learn from higher performing schools. It was also intended
that the website would be a place to exchange views and share
knowledge and experiences of what really works well rather than
the usual tell method that other websites offer. And finally to
bring the relationship between parent and school closer to work
in unison to assure learning experiences and methods are adopted
which are pivotal for young minds.
About Jo
Jo grew up in a small Derbyshire
village with her mum, dad, brother and a total of 9 foster
brothers, most of the foster children came from deprived
backgrounds so at an early age Jo learned of the difficulties
that face some families, but also Jo learned given a little
time, patience and love all children can achieve great things.
As a teenager Jo became the favourite village baby sitter being
known for having great experience with children. Following
through to school child development studies was an obvious
choice but only to be disappointed to learn she did not have the
grades to go on to become a teacher. So the career path changed
and a business career was carved out working as a buyer moving
into sales then into government business sector working for the
Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce and later within further
education working as a Sales & Marketing Project Manager for
Adult funded distance learning. In total 14 years worth of
rounded business experience in a variety of environments meeting
a wealth of experience and life skills along the way. It was
after being made redundant, Jo turned back to her real passion
and lifelong ambition to work with young children in some
capacity. The company Media Bubble Ltd was formed. |
